FUNCTION    A 16-bit program counter used to address program memory. The
            PC always contains the address of the next instruction to be
            executed. The PC contents are updated following each
            instruction decode operation. On the TMS32020, the operations
            of the TMS320C25 prefetch counter are performed by the program
            counter.
