  The _modem_init system variable holds the string that should be sent
  to the modem when Telix starts-up. It is usually used to make sure
  certain settings in the modem are right. This string may contain
  translation characters as defined in the Telix manual, and should be
  sent to the modem with the cputs_tr function. Maximum length is 49
  characters.
