&G0 No guard tones.
&G1 550 Hz guard tone.
&G2 1800 Hz guard tone.
Someone told me that guard tones were needed to turn off echo-
suppression circuitry on transatlantic phone lines. I don't know if
that's true, or even what it means. Whatever they are, guard tones are
not used in North America.
Default setting: &G0 Recommended setting: &G0
