Name: peekstr() - read string from specified memory location
Usage: <string> = peekstr(<seg>,<off>,[<length>])
Params: integer <seg> - the segment address to read from
integer <off> - the offset address to read from
The two address parameters can also be specified as
hexadecimal strings for convenience since memory
locations are usually specified in hex notation. If
you specify memory locations in hexadecimal, you must
specify both parameters as hex strings, or both parameters
as integers, but not a mixture of both.
integer <length> - the number of bytes to read into
the return string. Optional, if left off, then the
string is filled until the first null byte is encountered.
This is useful for DOS interrupts that return
segment:offset addresses of null terminated asciiz
strings
Returns: a string equal to the bytes read from the location
specified by the memory address passed.
---------------------------------- Example ---------------------------------
* This example reads the rom date at address F000h:FFF5h
? peekstr("F000h","FFF5h",8)
