   Proceed as follows:

     . Access the Data Dictionary by pressing the Dictionary
       button from the dBsee main menu.

     . Highlight the file having the index to be modified.

     . Press the Indexes button.

     . Highlight the desired index.

     . Press the Space Bar.

     . The name of the index is displayed on the definition frame
       and can not be modified at this stage.

     . The description is proposed by the system, and is built
       using the description of the first field of the indexkey expression.
       This option can be modified freely.

     . A search window can be associated to the index. This window
       will also be called during a lookup.

     . The Options button accesses the options of the index. In
       this environment, the index attributes can be defined, like the sort
       order and the UNIQUE attribute, and to modify the global expression.

     . Confirm the information entered by pressing F10 twice.
