X-Hacker.org- dBsee 4.6 - The Library - Norton Guide http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]

Deleting a file in dBsee is a very simple operation but involves complex
procedure. It is a simple operation because is sufficient to press the
Del key to remove the desired file. But it is also a complex operation
because deleting a file from the data dictionary will remove every
reference in every entity that uses the file. All associated indexes are
removed, as well as all relationships involving the deleted file.

The file's fields are not removed, but continue to exist as symbols. If no
file references that symbol, it becomes an "orphan" in the Symbols
   table.

If any object exists, whose main file is the deleted file, then the object
   is also deleted.

To remove a file from the data dictionary, proceed as follow:

. Press the Dictionary button from the main menu of dBsee.

. Highlight the file that must be deleted.

     . Press the Del key.

. Press the OK button to confirm the file deletion.
Deleting a file is a one-way operation, and can not be turned back.
dBsee will warn you about this fact, and give you the opportunity of
       aborting the file deletion.

. If your decision is to delete the file, confirm by pressing
       the OK button.
