  These can often be used, provided they follow the rules
  described in "The Clipper Extend System".
  
  Add-ons which access hardware (e.g. comms ports) directly are
  sometimes, but not always, incompatible with Windows.
  
  Add-ons such as Overlay(), which free as much DOS memory as
  possible so that you can RUN a program without quitting your
  Clipper application, are not needed (and will not work).  The
  WinExec() function allows other programs to be started from
  your application.
