[<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]
LoadIcon()
Load a standard Windows icon or an icon resource
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Syntax
LoadIcon( <hInst>, <nIcon> | <cIcon> ) --> hIcon
Arguments
<hInst> is the handle of the instance of the application (as
returned by the _GetInstance() function), or a handle of a DLL
(as returned by the LoadLibrary() function). The default is the
current application.
<nIcon> is a number identifying a pre-defined icon to load
(one of the IDI_* values defined in WINDOWS.CH), or the
numeric id of an icon resource.
<cIcon> is the name of an icon resource.
Returns
If successful, the handle to the icon is returned as a non-
zero number. Otherwise, zero (0) is returned.
Description
This function can be used to access the standard (pre-defined)
icons known to Windows, or to fetch icons from resource files.
If an application uses this function, it should not call the
DestroyIcon() function.
Example
hIcon = LoadIcon( hInst, IDI_HAND ) // STOP sign
DrawIcon( hDC, 200, 200, hIcon )
