strstreambuf::str

Usage

   #include <sstream.hpp>
   char *strstream::str();

Description

   Freezes the streambuf and returns a pointer to the start of the memory
   area. If there is room in the current put area, a precautionary null byte
   is appended.

Example 

   char *foo()
   {

       strstreambuf d;

       d.sputn("Speed the plough");
       // dynamically allocated

       return d.str();
       // allocation not deleted when d destructor called
   }
