  set_port(int <port>);

  .  Description

  The set_port function is used to select a communications port to
  use. Allowable values for <port> are 1 through 8.

  If the new port can be successfully initialized, a non-zero (TRUE)
  value is returned, otherwise a value of -1 is returned.
