READINSERT()


Syntax:     READINSERT([<expL>])

Purpose:    To report the current insert mode setting for READ and
            MEMOEDIT() and optionally toggle it on or off.

Argument:   <expL> toggles the insert mode on or off.  True (.T.)
            turns insert on, while false (.F.) turns insert off.  The
            default setting is false (.F.) or the last user selected
            mode in READ or MEMOEDIT().

Returns:    A logical value.

            READINSERT() returns the current insert mode setting.

----------------------------------- Example --------------------------------

   The following example sets the insert mode prior to entering
   MEMOEDIT() and resets the mode when MEMOEDIT() terminates:

   ins_mode = READINSERT(.T.)       && Turn on insert mode.
   memo_val = MEMOEDIT(memo_val)
   READINSERT(ins_mode)             && Restore last setting.
