Understanding the function reference
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The NOVLIB function reference chapter details the use of each NOVLIB
function, including argument data types, returned data types and function
description.
A code example is provided for each NOVLIB function. Since NOVLIB can be
used with many different languages, the example code provided in the
function reference can be viewed as `pseudo' code that mirrors the syntax
used by C, BASIC, Pascal and xBASE languages and should be readily
understandable by any programmer familiar with any of these languages. The
following sections will explain how the notation used in the function
reference should be interpreted for each supported language or compiler.
If you are using NOVLIB with the C language, please see the section `Using
NOVLIB with C' later in this chapter for important additional information
specific to C.
