 IPX communications
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The IPX protocol is connectionless in that there is no need to establish a
connection between two workstations before data can be sent - a workstation
need only build a data packet, fill in the destination address and send the
 packet.
When using IPX, there is no guarantee that the data will reach the
destination station (the destination station may not even exist).
Additionally there is no guarantee that multiple packets will arrive in the
order they were sent, as each packet is viewed as a self contained
 transmission.
IPX packets may be sent in broadcast mode, meaning that they are sent to
all workstations on the network, a capability that does not exist with SPX.
IPX is the faster of the two protocols and is the protocol used when the
workstation shell software communicates with fileservers.
