X-Hacker.org- dBsee 4.6 - The Library - Norton Guide http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]

In order to insert a new Form object, the Ins key must be used. The
definition frame must be filled with the following information:

. Main file associated to the object. The F7 key displays
       a list of available files.

. Name of the Form object. The system proposes a default name,
made by the first 3 characters of the file name, and a suffix of
       Frm. May be modified freely.

. Title. This represents the object's title.

Pressing the F10 key will save the data entered and create the new
object. During the development, a pushbutton or a menu label must be
created in order to access the new Form.

For instance, creating a menu label for calling the Form object defined in
the Entities environment, proceed as follows:

. From the Application environment, press the Menu labels
       and the Label buttons.

. Enter the data required and save with key F10.

. With the cursor highlighting the newly created menu label,
press the Alt-Ins key to link it to an object. The system will
propose the list of all available object types.

. Select the Form option. From the Form objects, select
the one just created. As soon as a menu label is associated to a data
entry or report system, dBsee converts the Label type menu label
to a Data entry/report model label, adding the
       ">" symbol to the right.

. At this point, the Form object can be designed both in the
Application as well as in the Entities environment.

By pressing Alt-Del, the object can be unlinked from the menu label.
