X-Hacker.org- dBsee 4.6 - The Library - Norton Guide http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]

The Form object's function is to allow insertion, modification,
consultation or to search for data coming from a single record of the main
file at a time, and from all files relationed to it.

A menu can be associated to each Form object. In fact, the first object of
the entire generated application, to which the main menu is associated, is
   nothing but a Form object.

The Form object has, as part of its properties, the name of the generated
source program, the name of the main file that it will operate on and the
name of the template that will be used for the generation.

To access data, a Form object contains a group of controls. A control is a
graphical element that is used to obtain a visual presentation of the data
or to define the format and the dynamic behaviour of the user interface.
The controls available in dBsee are: Get with relative prompts,
Expressions, Variables, Box, Pushbuttons, Font, Icons, List Boxes, Radio
Buttons, Check Boxes, Combination Boxes and Spin Buttons. The use of a
control when designing a Form object is described in the chapter entitled
   Design.

Among the properties of a Form object, it is possible to set different
options relative to the graphic display of the object (for example, the
color type, if the menu and the title are to be displayed) or the
operating mode (if resizable, how many screen pages, which control is the
start-up control, etc.). These properties can be set using the Options
button in the definition frame of the object, or during the design stage,
pressing Ctrl-Enter (when the cursor does not highlight a control).
