X-Hacker.org- dBsee 4.6 - The Library - Norton Guide http://www.X-Hacker.org [<<Previous Entry] [^^Up^^] [Next Entry>>] [Menu] [About The Guide]

When indexes are created, dBsee provides as a default name, the name of
the file to which it's associated, followed by an increasing progressive
number. The progressive number is a reference for the SET ORDER TO,
needed to the system for the ordering of the data when displaying a search
   window.
If this order number is to be changed, the system allows the index to be
   moved to another position.

   Proceed as stated:

. From the dBsee main menu select and press the Dictionary
       button.

. Highlight the file that contains the index whose position
       needs to be modified.

     . Press the Indexes button.

. Position the cursor in correspondence to the index that is
to be moved and press the Move button.

. Using the arrow keys, bring the cursor to the new position
that the index is to assume.

. Confirm the movement by the Confirm movement button.

The index is moved and the indexes that follow it will be renumbered.

. Press F10 or Esc to close the list.

   --------------------------------------------------------------------------
The name of the index is not modified; Only the progressive number used
for the SET ORDER TO is modified.
