SetHandleCount()
Set the number of available file handles
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Syntax
SetHandleCount( <nWanted> )   -->   nActual

Arguments
<nWanted> is an integer specifying the number of file handles
wanted.

Returns
The returned value is the actual number now available.

Description
This function can be used to change the number of file handles
made available by Windows to the application.

The returned value specifies the actual number.

Note: as well as the setting in CONFIG.SYS, there is an entry
in the [386enh] section of SYSTEM.INI of the form:
          PerVMFiles=<n>
where <n> is the number of files.  You may need to alter this
value.
