 Installation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before installing Blinker, please take a few minutes to fill out and return
the enclosed registration card. It is essential that you do this in order to
receive your 90 days of free technical support, and to be eligible for
further support and future upgrades to the product.

To install Blinker, insert the diskette in the floppy drive and from either
 Windows or DOS run:

 X:\INSTALL

where X: is the drive letter containing the distribution diskette. The
installation program will prompt you for the installation drive and
directory, and will install the software in the specified directory.

 Installing CA-Clipper link script files

Blinker includes a number of link script files for CA-Clipper which, when
included in a program link script file, will overlay portions of a number of
library files. These files will be installed in the CLP\LNK subdirectory of
 the main Blinker directory.

When a reference is made to another link script file in a link script,
Blinker will look for that file in the following directories in the
 indicated order:

   an explicit path, if stated
   the current directory
the directories pointed to by the LIB environment variable

We therefore recommend that you either:
Include the CLP\LNK subdirectory of the Blinker installation directory in
 your LIB environment variable, e.g.:

 SET LIB=C:\CLIPPER5\LIB;C:\BLINKER\CLP\LNK

 Or:
Copy the script files to the directory in the LIB environment variable where
 the corresponding library files reside.
 (assuming LIB points to C:\CLIPPER5\LIB)

 COPY C:\BLINKER\CLP\LNK\*.LNK C:\CLIPPER5\LIB <enter>

CA-Clipper 5.3 Workbench link templates for real mode, dual mode and
extended mode programs are provided in the CLP\TPL subdirectory in files
BLIRMD.TPL, BLIDUA.TPL and BLIEXT.TPL respectively. Note that incremental
linking will default to ON when using these templates.
