   Client Advantage Optimized Filter APIs

   Advantage has support for creating and using Advantage Optimized Filters
   on the client and the server.  AOF usage on the server may be much faster
   than AOF usage on the client, but AOF usage on the client is more flexible
   than AOF usage on the server.

   Client AOFs are physically built, used, and stored on the client.  Since
   Client AOFs are stored on the client, information about those AOFs are
   readily available.  This makes Client AOFs more flexible than Server
   AOFs.  Some examples of AOF flexibility that is only available with
   Client AOFs are:  multiple Client AOFs can exist at any one time in a
   given work area; Client AOFs can be logically ORed or ANDed together to
   create a new compound AOF; and custom Client AOFs can be created with the
   ability to manually add or remove records from the AOF.

   The only APIs that can manipulate and retrieve information about Client
   AOFs are the APIs listed in the following section that begin with the
   prefix "aof".  The Server AOF APIs begin with an "AX_" prefix and cannot
   be used to manipulate or retrieve information about Client AOFs.
